Rummer Reading Teen Programs take place every Thursday in June and July at 4pm in the library's meeting room.
All teen programming is subject to change based on participant vote. This means that we'll do what you want this summer (within reason of course ). So if you want every program to feature fabric construction, or movie making, or anything else, convince your friends and vote on a programming change. Any changes in the program will have to be decided at least one week before, and we'll post a notice of the change here on our Website. |
- June 7 - Altered Ts
what's your style? logos, tye dyed, tanks, or something even more radical? bring an old t-shirt you want to re-work or a new t-shirt you'd like to change into your own work of art
- June 14 - Altered Ts, Part 2
last week you voted to continue working on your altered t-shirts for another week, so we've changed the schedule to offer more time with Ts. Feel free to bring more T-shirts this week to explore new possibilities!
- June 21 - Fabric Construction (aka Altered Ts, Part 3)Once again, by popular vote, you've elected to continue working with t shirts -- this time to make purses and pillows.
Don't forget to bring old Ts from home (or Goodwill) and any other fabric scraps you'd like to work with!
- June 28 - Fabric Construction Without Ts
by popular demand this is our final fling with fabric -- this time, we'll use assorted fabric scraps to create bags and pillows
- July 5 - Movie Making 101
learn how to make your own film shorts using still photos and software and begin work on your Summer '07 films (these will be shown during the teen wrap-up party) bring any print or digital photos to get started and we'll have a digital camera here to make more
- July 12 - Movie Making, Part 2
By unanimous vote last week, you decided to continue making movies this week, so we'll review the filmaking concepts we talked about last time, pick up a few more pointers, and continue work on the movie shorts you started last week. Don't forget to bring your audio(music)!
- July 19 - Geocaching
try treasure hunting with a twist using a GPS receiver if you have access to a portable GPS receiver, please bring it to the program; the library will have one or two to work with
- July 26 - Wrap Party
