 The Orange Beach Public Library has been notified that we have received national recognition as a 5-Star Library, the highest rating from The Library Journal Index of Public Library Services. The ranking is based on four service categories: circulation (number of items checked out), visits to the library, program attendance and public Internet computer use. This second round of the LJ Index is based on our 2007 data, predating the recession’s onset.

Tickets are now on sale for the Fourth Annual Trivia Night & Silent Auction sponsored by the Missouri Snowbird Club. Proceeds from this fundraiser benefit our library and the Gulf Shores public library.
The Trivia Night will take place Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Phoenix West – Ninth Floor (23972 Perdido Beach Road). Auction Opens at 6:00 P.M. Trivia Begins at 7:00 P.M.
Tickets are sold in teams of 8 @ $100.00 per table. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places.

We're two weeks into the school year and the homework is piling up. Never fear though, help is here for students in grades K through college. Homework Alabama provides online tutors Sunday through Thursday from 3 until 10pm, and a Skills Center Resource Library that's available 24/7.
For parents, the same site also provides career help with resume review, job search help and interview prep.
